It's been 833 days since Wes Anderson's last film, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," was released wide in the US. At the time, it was rumored that his next film would be an animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and that he would again work with "The Life Aquatic" collaborator Noah Baumbach. But then word came out that he would be making a live-action film called "The Darjeeling Limited" with Roman Coppola co-writing and a cast that includes Owen Wilson, Natalie Portman, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzmann. The plot revolves around three brothers that embark on a journey through India after their father dies.
There hasn't been much news on the film, but on Wednesday Filmmaker Magazine posted the first poster art for the film. According to IMDB, "The Darjeeling Limited" has an expected limited release date of Dec. 25 of this year, three years to the day after the wide release of "The Life Aquatic." It can't come soon enough. Until then, though, this interesting artwork will have to sate our hunger for a return to the world of Wes Anderson.
